Layout of the Container Accommodation Unit

Benefits of Staff Quarters for Employees

  • Improved well-being and comfort: Provides a safe, secure, and comfortable living space close to the workplace, reducing commute times and fatigue.
  • Cost-effectiveness: These are more affordable housing options compared to renting apartments or houses, especially in high-cost areas.
  • Sense of community: They create a shared living environment that can foster friendship and support among staff, particularly for those working away from home.
  • Increased productivity and morale: Reduced commute times and improved living conditions can lead to increased focus, energy, and overall worker satisfaction.

Benefits of Staff Quarters for Organizations

  • Attracting and retaining talent: Offering staff accommodation can be a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining skilled workers, especially in remote locations.
  • Improved operational efficiency: Having staff readily available on-site can improve responsiveness and reduce downtime, particularly for projects with critical timelines.
  • Cost savings: Depending on the location and alternative options, providing staff accommodation can be more cost-effective than employee relocation allowances or travel expenses.
  • Increased control and safety: Having staff housed on-site can offer greater control over access and security, especially for sensitive operations or remote locations.

Foundation/Base

  • Concrete foundation pillars were installed to support the container.
  • We built concrete walls between the pillars to enclose the foundation and create a finished look.

The Shipping Container

  • A standard 40ft shipping container was used as the base structure.
  • The double doors at one end were opened permanently to extend the usable space to 44ft.

The House Interior:

The MODERN, Granite-topped Kitchen
  • The interior walls and ceiling were lined with gypsum insulation materials for comfort and temperature control.
  • A well-lit, spacious kitchen was installed with granite countertops.
  • Four bedrooms were created, each with wardrobe storage.
  • Modern electric lighting was installed throughout the unit.
  • Ceramic tiles lined the floor

The Structure Exterior

  • A verandah (covered porch) was added to the exterior extending along the side created by opening the container doors.
  • Gable roofing was installed on top of the container to enhance aeration.

The unit follows the specifications as indicated in the drawing.
